Preparing Students for Postsecondary Education and Completing the FAFSA
We all know the importance of post-secondary education, especially for youth experiencing homelessness, yet these students face many barriers in transitioning to higher education. This webinar will discuss these barriers and provide strategies for helping youth experiencing homelessness prepare for and transition to post-secondary education, with particular emphasis on college preparation. Information will be provided on how to complete the FAFSA and obtain fee waivers.
By the end of today’s webinar, participants will be able to:
-
Identify and address challenges that youth experiencing homelessness face in pursuing post-secondary education.
-
Support students in completing the FAFSA and obtaining fee waivers.
-
Identify scholarship resources.
-
Help students prepare for their transition to college.
-
Link with local colleges and universities to support students experiencing homelessness.
